From June 11, 3G FOMA videophone users who subscribe to the WORLD CALL® service will be able to enjoy videophone calls with 3G videophone customers of mobile operator KT Freetel Co., Ltd. in South Korea. The communication charge will be 44 yen per 10 seconds (up to the user’s monthly limit for international roaming charges).
As a result of these additions, DoCoMo will offer voice roaming in 125 countries/regions, i-mode packet communications roaming in 35 countries/regions and international videophone communications in five countries/regions
This means not-only can you showoff your Japanese hanset when visiting home, but you can call your friends in Japan on video phone, and laugh together at our primative western mobile technology. International MMS (Multimedia messaging service) will be launched on June 1.
