W22H
It’s fun to play with the W22H from Hitachi, because it has “slide assist”. This of it as power steering for sliding front panel. Remember the big Nokia that went “shlack!” in the Matrix? This is more fun. Unfortunately, this, and the fact that you can get it in “vintage red” is pretty much everything that stands out in this phone. And also a 1.24 megapixel CCD camera. Well, I am being spoiled because it comes with all the usual buzz and whistle of course, but it would certainly not be my first choice.
Main specs:
* weight: 142 gram
* size: 51*115*27 mm (slide)
* main display: 2.4 inch (no subdisplay)
* main mobile camera: 1.24 megapixel CCD
* data storage capacity: 24 MB
* memory card: miniSD 256 MB

nilay: You can only buy this phone in Japan of course. But even if you decided to come here and get it, remember Japanese phones are not compatible to any network except Japan’s, so you wouldn’t be able to use it in the UK anyway. You could always move here, if you really want this phone so badly. By the way, can you read Japanese? The W22H is not bilingual…

I am in California. My son brought me his W22H from Yokohama. Does anyone know where I can buy a battery and or charger for the phone. There are several pictures of my grandson on it but I cant get the pictures off as the battery is dead. And I found out “good Luck” finding the mini USB data cable in the US. Any suggestions would be of help. Thanks

Right, you can’t seem to get Japanese mobile phones online, so you would have to buy it in Japan.
Some phones now work in GPRS and GSM countries, but not on those networks. They have to still run on their own network. Also, prices would be massive because of this. (Overseas calling).
Last but not least, you could unlock it, to take your own SIM card, but it would mean many features would not work.
