Vodafone 3G – 802SE : the best Vodafone 3G phone so far
SonyEricsson’s 802SE is a killer device. Nice screen, SVG compliant, not too big, easy to handle. Much better specs than the Nokia and Motorola 3G-phones. We expect this phone to hit the top rank in Vodafone’s Japanese sales of handsets.

This phone looks very nice! I have a question – I’m planning to get a new phone and am looking for something with Bluetooth. I want to synchronize calendars and such with my Mac Powerbook, but can’t find much info out in English which models work best. A Docomo handset would be preferable, as it’s easier for me to jump on my fiance’s family contract. But I want something that works. Suggestions?

Curt.. I think that the 702NK (Vodafone’s 3G Nokia Handset), aka the 6630 in EU, has good BT synch. functions and English menu too..!!
Ariel; That SonyEricsson runs about $200 (usd) at launch, it will be more like free by year-end tho. You should note that it’s NOT possible to buy a phone in Japan w/o the service contract.. unless maybe you want an older ‘junker’ unit that’s been traded-in by someone upgrading I guess.. 8-)

Are there any Bluetooth phones in Japan that you can use as a modem for your laptop?
To try and be clear, if I have a laptop with Bluetooth I want to be able to connect to the Internet via my Bluetooth enabled phone. This is possible in Europe, I just don’t know if it is possible in Japan.
